With the partial easing of Covid-19 restrictions from 12 April 2021 we have reassessed the coronavirus risks and feel it appropriate to offer Songkran services with appropriate controls in place. This is based on the following principles:
- Comply with government guidance
- Reduce exposure
- Provide appropriate facilities outside the temple
- Control and record attendees
To reduce exposure we are holding candle lighting ceremonies in the week before our Songkran event starting on 11 April 2021, this allows attendees to pay their respects to the monks, make offerings and receive blessings over a longer period. Please contact the monks if you wish to participate.
For Sunday 18 April 2021 we are asking that visitor numbers on the day are kept to a minimum. We will provide covered seating on the temple car park with correct social distancing, and ask that each attendee allow us to measure their forehead temperature prior to admittance and record names with contact details.
We trust that you will bear with us as we try to manage the coronavirus risks for the benefit of all, and like everyone we remain optimistic that life will soon return to some semblance of normality.
With Metta (loving kindness)
