1:  Well, we finally got there ....  at 13:00 on Friday 18 Jan 13 we completed the purchase of the new Temple and collected the keys.

Tony and Kwanjit accepting the keys from Belle Oates, previous owner of The Waterloo Hotel .... was a very cold day, but there will soon be a warm welcome ...

The Waterloo Hotel, 88 Church Street, Runcorn WA7 1JH  is an eight bedroomed hotel and pub located close to Runcorn mainline rail station.  It has very good transport links and has the benefit of it's own car park with an adjacent very large public car park.

2:  We have now obtained full planning approval from Halton Borough Council for change of use to allow us to establish the Waterloo Hotel as a Place of Worship.

3:  We are awaiting the arrival of Than Thirasak from Wat Phra Singh, Chiang Mai who has requested the permission of Wat Sakhet in Bangkok to work in the UK as a missionary monk.  It is hoped that he and two monks will arrive in early May 2013

4:  You can now follow us on Facebook using "Wat Phra Singh UK" in either English or Thai

5:  On Sunday 7 April 2013 we celebrated Songkran at Wat Phra Singh UK in Runcorn.  It was an excellent day attended by over 250 people who were all very excited about what has been achieved in establishing our new temple. We were honoured to have as our guests Ajahn Chan and two monks from Wat Santiwongsaram who have been very supportive.  As the temple is supported solely by voluntary donations  we were pleased to reciprocate this by offering free food to all our visitors - we don't think anyone went home hungry !

Donations on the day totalled £4,116 and we offered a donation to Wat Santiwongsaram as thanks for their support and to cover their travel expenses.  We had costs of £80.20 for food and sundry items as much of the food on the day was very generously donated by our supporters.  In addition to recent donations for the new carpet fund and for lighting we were able to deposit £4,704.41 into the charity bank account.

On behalf of the Trustees and Temple Committee we offer our humble thanks for this magnificant support.
